How do I jump start with my Weego Jump Starter?

It’s simple – in a few easy steps you’ll be back on the go.

  1. Connect the cable to your battery by clamping: Red (+) to Red (+) and Black (-) to Black (-).
  2. Plug the cable to the Jump Starter pack and power on your Weego (blue indicators will light up).
  3. Get in your vehicle and start your engine.
  4. Unplug the cable from your Jump Starter pack and remove the cable from your battery. Easy!

Which Weego is best for my vehicle?

Weego Jump Starters can be used on gas and diesel engines as follows:

  • Model 44.2: 7L+ gas engines/3.5L+ diesel engines*
  • Model 66.2: 10L+ gas engines/5L+  diesel engines*

* Engine size is approximate; power requirement will vary for each vehicle.

NOTE: Extreme cold temperatures affect battery performance. If you operate in these conditions for any length of time, consider the next-largest Weego.

How many times will the Weego jump my vehicle?

There’s no one answer to this question, but in general you’ll get several jumps out of each full charge. How many, exactly, depends on:

  • The size of the engines you’re jumping
  • The charge left in your vehicle’s battery
  • The condition of your vehicle’s battery
  • The temperature outside
  • And so on…

How long does it take to fully charge the Weego?

Model 44.2 & 66.2 both take approximately 3 hours to fully charge from 0-100%.

Can I take my Weego on an airplane?

All Weego products have been through a myriad of tests to ensure they’re safe during all modes of transportation, including airplanes. Airlines ban any batteries greater than 100Wh on passenger airlines; models 44.2 (41Wh) and 66.2 (66Wh) fall within the limit.

If you’re flying with your Weego, be sure to store it in your carry-on luggage ONLY. In addition, you should always make sure your Weego unit is stored so that the ports don’t make contact with other loose items in your bag.

What is the lifespan of Weego Products?

Models 44.2 and 66.2 have a lifespan of 1,000 cycles – that’s a full charge and full discharge per cycle, which will last you anywhere from 2-5 years, depending on how often you use it and how well you take care of your battery.

Where should I store my Weego when I’m not using it?

It’s always best to store your Weego in a dry location at room temperature. This is to help prolong the batteries lifespan.

NEVER store your Weego, or any battery of any kind, in a place where temperatures can exceed 140*F (60*C), as this poses a safety risk. This could be in a closed car on a hot summer day, where temperatures can reach well past our recommended limit. Treat your Jump Starter as if you would your phone or tablet. Would you leave those in your hot car?

Which laptops can be charged using the Weego laptop connectors?

Weego sells 8 adapters and a cable to charge a variety of popular laptops including: Acer, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba. Note that there are 12V and 19V outputs for laptops so use the voltage closest to that of your laptop charger. The information can be found on the bottom of your laptop charger.

What happens if I accidentally connect the clamps to the wrong battery terminals?

The units will beep at you until you correct the clamps and place them on the proper terminals. You will be unable to jump start until you place the clamps on the proper terminals.

Are the Weego’s waterproof?

All of our Pro-line products are IP65 rated for water, dust and dirt resistance. However, when the ports are exposed, be sure not to allow moisture to get inside.

What is Detect-o-Matic charging?

This is our super-fast USB charging technology. It’s designed to charge your USB device at the fastest-possible charge that it will accept. Many new USB devices, like select Samsung cell phones, have a built-in fast-charging technology to which our Detect-O-Matic™ is compatible.

What size engine can I jump?

In 12V mode our jump starters can cover nearly any gas or diesel engine on the road or in the field.

In 24V mode our unit is great for jumping any gas engine and light to medium duty diesel engines up to 10.0L

Jumping ability, though, greatly depends on the charge and health level of the existing batteries. For 24V diesel systems, If there is still residual charge in the vehicle’s battery (i.e. the battery bank is above 18.0V) then the charge in the batteries will supplement the charge in the Weego, allowing you to jump larger engines. However if the batteries are dead and unable to provide a supplemental charge, it’s possible you’ll struggle jumping 24V diesel engines larger than 10.0L

In the commercial field it’s no longer accurate to pinpoint a specific engine size for jumping capabilities; as combustion engine technologies advance with greater efficiencies in the starter motor and electronic starting systems, the current demand for a jump start becomes less and less. Older engines tend to have much larger power demands than equally-sized modern engines.

Model 154 (154Wh) can be taken on a passenger airline but will need to be cleared by TSA ahead of time. If you’re flying with C154 we suggest bringing a printed copy of the owners manual and arriving at the airport early to give yourself time to clear TSA. Note, that any and all lithium-ion batteries are required to be stored in carry-on luggage!

Can you charge laptops with Crankenstein?

If you have a laptop that charges via a USB-C, you can charge it through the C154 through the USB-C port present on the unit.

You can also use Crankenstein to charge laptops through the 12V CLA port. You will need to purchase an inverter that is compatible with the port.  The port is compatible with devices that require 15A of power or less.

What happens if I accidentally connect the clamps to the wrong battery terminals?

A message will appear on the OLED screen that says “Clamps Reversed – Connect to Proper Terminals”.  You will be unable to jump start until you place the clamps on the proper terminals.
